Put Hubby to work with automated tasks that help you manage your business!
Hubby Actions take automation to the next level by allowing you to create customized tasks that Hubby can handle for you. Whether you want to automatically tag orders, notify your team of important updates, or follow up with clients, Hubby Actions can help you save time and keep your business running smoothly.
The best part? You don't need to know how to code! Simply tell Hubby what you want done using everyday language.
How do Hubby Actions work?
Hubby Actions can work in three different ways:
- Automatically: Set up an Action to run whenever a specific event happens in your HDPhotoHub account, such as a new order being placed or an appointment being rescheduled.
- Scheduled: Have an Action run on a Schedule, such as every Monday at 8am.
- On Demand: Run a saved Action whenever you need it by selecting it directly from your Hubby chat.
This means you can automate repetitive tasks while still having the flexibility to run Actions whenever you'd like.

Step 2: Click 'Add Your First Hubby Action'
Step 3: Title your Hubby Action
Step 4: Add your prompt to the Action field
Step 5: Add a Trigger for automation

How to manually run a Hubby Action
Step 1: Open Hubby drawer from the right-hand side of the New Interface
Step 2: Type / in the Hubby chat
Step 3: Select the Hubby Action you'd like to run
Step 4: Hubby will begin processing your request
Note: This is a great way to test a new Hubby Action before adding a trigger for automations!
Step-by-step to Create a Hubby Action
Step 1: From the New Interface, click the Business Tools tab on the left-hand navigation menu. Then, select the Hubby Actions tab.
Step 2: To get started, click the 'Add Your First Hubby Action' button.
Step 3: In the Add Hubby Action drawer, add a Title for your Hubby Action. Give your Action a short, descriptive title that makes it easy to recognize. The Action Name will automatically use the Action Title, however, you can customize if you'd like. Action Names should use lowercase letters, numbers, and dashes only.
For example: new-client-alert or order-note-notification.
Step 4: In the Action field, describe what you'd like Hubby to accomplish. Think of this just like having a conversation with Hubby! Explain what should happen, when it should happen, and any specific conditions Hubby should look for.
For example: "When a new order is placed, check if the client has ordered from us before. If this is their first order, email me the client's name and contact information so I can personally welcome them. Then, add the 'First Time Client' tag to their account. If they've ordered before, do nothing."
Tip: The more specific your instructions are, the better Hubby can understand what you need. Be sure to include any conditions or exceptions that are important to your workflow.
Step 5: Want your Action to run automatically? That's where Triggers come in! A Trigger tells Hubby when to perform your Action based on something happening in your account. Click 'Add Trigger' and select the event that should activate your Action. Then, click 'Save'.
For example: selecting order.add will trigger your Action whenever a new order is placed.
If you would like your Hubby Action to run on a schedule instead of when something happens in your account, choose 'On a schedule' from the Event drop-down and set your schedule.
For example: every Monday at 8:00am.
If you'd rather run your Action manually, you can leave the Trigger section empty.
Step 6: Once you've configured your Action, click 'Save' to create your new Hubby Action. That's it! Your Hubby Action is ready to use.

These are just a few examples! You can customize your Hubby Actions to fit your specific business processes and workflows.
A Few Things to Keep in Mind
Before setting your Actions to run automatically, we recommend keeping these tips in mind:
- Test your Actions first. Run a newly created Action manually through the Hubby chat to make sure it behaves as expected.
- Be specific. Include clear instructions, conditions, and exceptions so Hubby knows exactly what you want it to do.
- Remember that automated Actions run independently. Once a Webhook Trigger activates an Action, Hubby can carry out the instructions without asking for your approval each time.
