When you purchase a custom domain name through HDPhotoHub for your client to use on their property site, that domain will expire after one year. If you allow your clients to renew the domain on their end, they will see that option on their Dashboard page within 30 days of the expiration date.
Occasionally, the domain may expire before the client has a chance to renew it. When this happens, there is a specific timeline for the expiration process before the domain becomes available for someone else to purchase. In some cases, HDPhotoHub may still be able to obtain the domain for renewal.
Understanding the domain timeline
Active – the domain name is within its 1-year activation timeline and has not yet reached the expiration date.
Deactivated – the domain name has reached the expiration date. For the first 30 days after expiration, HDPhotoHub can manually renew the domain for your client at the normal domain price.
Redemption – from 30 to 90 days after the domain has expired, HDPhotoHub may be able to renew the domain name. During this period, the renewal price can vary.
Pending Delete – from 90 to 95 days after the domain has expired, the domain is in the process of being deleted and cannot be renewed or purchased by anyone.
Available for Purchase – after about 95 days, the domain is available to be purchased by anyone.
Renewing an expired domain
Based on the domain timeline, if the domain has expired within the last 90 days, HDPhotoHub may be able to renew that domain name for you and your client. In some cases, the cost to renew may be higher than our normal domain rate. If the domain has expired within the last 90 days, please reach out to our Support team to check renewal availability.
