When your clients download images from a property site, they can choose between downloading the full-size images or an MLS-sized version. By default, the MLS image download size is set to 1200, which means the longest side of each image will be no larger than 1200 pixels.
Because MLS image requirements vary by market, you can customize the default MLS download size to better match the requirements of your local MLS.
How to adjust the default MLS image download size
For step-by-step instructions with screenshots, see the Step-by-Step section at the bottom of this article.
Step 1: Click the Business tab.
Step 2: Click the Default Settings tab.
Step 3: Update the MLS Image Download Default Size.
Step 4: Click "Save Changes."
Step-by-step
Step 1: Click the Business tab at the top of the page.
Step 2: Click the Default Settings tab on the left-hand side of the page.
Step 3: In the Platform Settings section, locate the MLS Image Download – Default Size setting. You can customize this value to meet your local MLS requirements.
Here are a few examples:
- 3000 — Sets the longest edge of each image to 3000 pixels.
- 3000x2000 — Outputs all images at 3000 pixels wide by 2000 pixels tall, cropping from the center as needed.
- 1200x800/90 — Resizes images to 1200 × 800 pixels, crops from the center, and uses a JPEG quality setting of 90.
- Lower quality values create smaller file sizes.
- Higher values produce better image quality.
- The default quality is 80, and the maximum is 100.
- Square Images:1200x1200/90 — Creates a square 1200 × 1200 pixel image, cropped from the center, with JPEG quality set to 90. The download button will be labeled "Square Images."
- Low Quality:1200x800/50|High Quality:3000x2000/95 — Creates two separate download buttons labeled "Low Quality" and "High Quality," allowing clients to choose between two download options.
- - (a single dash) — Disables the MLS Photos download button entirely.
Step 4: Scroll to the bottom of the page and click "Save Changes." Note: If you configured custom download button labels, those labels will appear on the property's Download page.
